Syracuse convicted killer’s sentencing delayed after argument with attorney in court

Syracuse, N.Y. – The scheduled sentencing of a man convicted of a Memorial Day fatal shooting was delayed Thursday after he argued with his defense attorney in the courtroom.
Jauquell Flagg, 32, was found guilty of fatally shooting Demond Jones, 44, from inside a stolen Chevrolet Malibu around 10 p.m. on May 29, 2023, in the 400 block of Bellevue Avenue.
He was set to be sentenced Thursday. He is facing 25 years to life in prison.
